Meredith: Just my luck! I must be the most unlucky person in the world, or at least I feel like it. Allow me to explain. I wake up bright and early to pee on my First Response Ovulation stick and YEA!!! I have two lines (or one and a faint second line). So, what do I do? To make sure I am not hallucinating, I run around the house shoving my freshly peed-on stick in everyone's face. Sure enough, everyone else also sees the elusive second line. Hallelujah!! Yikes ... not much time before I have to jump in the car and rush Austin to school. What to do?? What to do?? I know ... my husband!! Yes, that's right ... my husband! He is game for a quickie, even though he says he "thinks he's coming down with something."
As I need to get Austin to school and myself to work, I have no time to prop myself and my hips up on pillows. Crap ... no time to marinate! No worries, I believe in John's boys. Swim ... swim ...
All I can think about all day at work is getting home and getting it on again. After all, I only have a small window to make it happen. But, what should I get during my day at work? Oh yeah, a phone call from my sick husband. Apparently, he is sick and in bed. NOOOOOOO!!!!! I was supposed to have sexy time with my guy. I convince myself that it's probably nothing and he should be good to go when I get home. Well, he is NOT. I become the bad guy ... how dare I want to have SEX when he is sick? John says, "Why would you want my sick sperm anyway?" We go back and forth arguing ... I only need two minutes of his time. Not gonna happen. I was devastated. I couldn't sleep that night and ended up writing a blog that basically bashed my husband. Stupid, stupid me! **Note** You will not be reading that blog, because I realized I was being a mean and heartless bitch.
I took the ovulation pee test again the next morning and both lines were definitely there. That morning and night, John and I made up for the previous night. Although John was still sick, he was a trooper. Actually, he was a ROCK STAR! I made sure to prop my hips the first time, and the second time I tried a move that I heard about in the momlogic community. Whatever works!
We really went at it like rabbits the past few days and all I can do is hope that it was enough. If not ... I guess we can only keep trying. However, my fingers are crossed and I am so excited to be able to take the First Response Early Pregnancy Test in a week or so. Who knows -- maybe the "sick sperm" did it!
A note to my dear and patient husband -- I have really been giving my husband a hard time about getting pregnant. I tried to blame him this time for being sick. My goodness, I have been a maniac and honestly a hormonal bitch. It will happen when it happens. I need to start enjoying sex again and stop fixating on sex for a purpose. So, as unlucky as I felt, I am lucky to have a husband that understands the Baby Crazy side to me.
