Meredith: I vowed to try some new things this month, in my efforts to conceive. Here is my first attempt at the slightly unusual. I had no idea I would be so excited to hear what a "psychic" would say about my chances of conception. After all, I don't believe that Psychic Maria had an M.D. after her name or even a diploma of any sort. What she did have, according to the girl at the register who promptly took my money, was 15 years of psychic experience. I did think to myself, how does one get psychic experience? Is there a psychic training program? Did she one day wake up psychic? I did not know the answers to these questions and did not want to waste my precious minutes asking about her. I wanted to know about me!
After a brief Q & A about my parent's date of birth, my sibling's date of birth, and my husband's date of birth, she was on her way. Oops, I apologize -- prior to that, she did some strange chant with a crystal. She read my tarot cards and immediately asked if I "was pregnant now?" Uhhh, no.... Why did she think I was asking when I was going to get pregnant -- did she think I was trying to pull a fast one?? She went on to say that if I was not pregnant now, it was coming soon, like in a month. SCORE!! She went on to talk about how compatible my husband and I were, blah, blah, blah (I know that already), my health, and other stuff. By the way ... did you know that you could get pregnant by sleeping on green sheets?? Me neither; it's some kind of feng shui thing for prosperity and fertility. Note to self ... buy green sheets. Anyway, I left the psychic with an overall positive outlook and some great suggestions going forward. Oh, and she also told me the sex of my not-yet-conceived child. I'll never tell....
