Did I Wait Too Long To Have a Baby??

Tuesday, May 19, 2009
filed under: Wendy

Wendy: We waited the entire day and until after dinner to do the First Response Early Pregnancy Test. We took the test ... and it was negative. I am so upset. I thought that if I did everything I was supposed to do, the test would be positive. I am emotionally drained and really, really upset.

Then I did another test. Again, negative. I'm speechless and all out of tears today. Don't know what to say. I'm just going to keep testing until i start my period.

Did I really wait too long? Am I really too old? Are we going to go through this life and not leave a piece of us to carry on our family?

Wendy, I believe you were the one with the one tube right? If so, you will need to be patient and continue monitoring your ovulation until the right egg comes out. Be patient. I will happen.

Wendy, Don’t worry, it will happen. I am sorry for your negative result. I know it sucks!

Must’ve been hard to wait all day. I remember reading that Halle Berry had like 35 negatives before a positive. Keep going. It will happen. Treat yourself really well in the meantime. Get a massage, facial… something you’ll really enjoy.

Don’t keep testing you are only torturing yourself. It didn’t happen this month but that doesn’t mean it won’t happen next month. Keep taking the folic acid, having sex at the right time, but more importantly HAVE FUN! Making babies should not be an ordeal :) Best advice I was ever given was to book a holiday at around ovulation time and go have yourself a short relaxing break with husband. Works wonders, and if nothing happens at least you had a nice time :)

Aw, Wendy, don’t give up! These things take time. I can’t imagine how discouraging it must be to get that negative. Try not to let it get to you. Even in ideal circumstances it can take a couple 3-6 months to conceive. Think of this as month 1, and don’t let this get you down!

Wendy those test are not always accurate! I took a test 25 DPO ovulation and still got a negative. That was after a missed period. Then 9 days later I got a positive with first morning urine. At that time I was 34 DPO which is days past ovulation. Its bad to test this early you need to wait until you are at the least 14 days past ovulation. Trust me on this….after TTC 3years I am finally pregnant.
