Did you know that my mother-in-law & sister-in-law call me every Mother's Day because I am a mom to three dogs? I think it's the funniest thing.

It's hard for me to relate right now to Mother's Day on a personal level because I am not a mom yet. But when I think about what it means to celebrate amazing mothers, I think of my mom, my mom's mom, and my mother-in-law. Their strength, devotion, and humor are all characteristics that I strive for everyday. All my moms inspire me to be better in every aspect of my life, and I love them more than anyone will ever know.
My mother, Gizella, is the best mom in the entire world. She taught me to be respectful, courteous, and made and continues to make me believe that I can conquer the world. She was strict while I was growing up and it worked. It was only when I was a junior in high school that she eased up on me. She just knew when I would be ready to make choices, bask in victories, and endure consequences.
My mother's mother, Matilde, oozed love and compassion. She always made me feel like nothing else mattered to her except me. I could hug her forever. She was the epitome of what a grandmother is. She passed away in 1991. It's not fair.
My mother-in-law, Diana, is forthright, tenacious, and confident. We both knew we were family from the moment we locked eyes on each other. We just clicked from the very beginning. She has always treated me as one of her own children. I truly honor her for her ability to share her son with me.
I only wish to be a fraction of what my mothers are.
