When my daughter was 1, she was diagnosed with a "fused labia." This meant the lips of her vagina were fused together, and there was just a small opening that allowed her to urinate. Of course, I was scared. What is a fused labia, and what can be done about it? OB/GYN and friend of Mom•Logic Dr. Suzanne Gilberg-Lenz explains.

Angelina Jolie: Baby on Board?
Is it safe for the superstar to fly to Jordan if she's really pregnant?
Is she or isn't she? Baby rumors were flying when she wore that caftan dress to the SAG awards. Then this week, the possibly-pregnant Angelina Jolie jumped on a plane to Jordan. If she is indeed pregnant, as is being reported by US and seemingly everyone else, is it safe to fly?
Some OB/GYNs say no, citing increased chance of miscarriage. But OB/GYN and friend of Mom•Logic Dr. Suzanne Gilberg-Lenz says flying while newly-preggo is perfectly safe. "There's no data on there being any harm in flying in the first trimester," she says. However, she warns, pregnant patients have an elevated risk for developing blood clots in their legs while flying. "But there are things women can do to combat this: Move their legs around, wear compression stockings, and stay well hydrated," she advises.
Did you fly during your pregnancy? Any tips for Angelina? Comment below.

Need a Vaginal Nip/Tuck?
Vaginal rejuvenation surgeries are gaining popularity, but should your vagina really get a makeover?
It's not like we here at Mom•Logic sit around and talk about our vajayjays all day, but lately we've been discussing vaginal rejuvenation surgery. A lot. Apparently, the surgery tightens vaginal muscles and reduces the size of a woman's labia, and is designed to increase sexual gratification and reduce forms of incontinence. Other variations of the surgery include hymenoplasties, where the hymen membrane is "reattached," and liposuction of the pubic mound. The surgery costs on average between $4,000 and $10,000. But is it worth it? We called OB/GYN and friend of Mom•Logic Dr. Suzanne Gilberg-Lenz for her opinion on this new trend.
Sounds like Dr. Suzanne's not a big fan. But we know one mother of three who says the surgery has transformed her sex life, and was worth every penny. What do you think?
Give the Boy a Shot!
The HPV vaccine should be made available to both sexes.By now, we've all heard of the HPV vaccination recommended for girls
age 9 and up. But what about boys? Mom•Logic friend OB/GYN Dr. Suzanne Gilberg-Lenz says, "I think it's insane the vaccine isn't offered for boys! Where do you think girls are getting HPV in the first place? This is just sexist." Amen! But there is some hope on the horizon: Merck
is testing an HPV vaccine for boys as we speak. It's about freaking time!
