I had a premature baby, and I constantly worry about her when she makes any little noise. Is this normal, has anyone else gone through this?

Even moms of full term babies have the same worries in the beginning. Things do begin to straighten out. One thing you should know as a parent is that you are also raising children to be happy, so show them lots of love and happiness and they will learn from example. Worrying is hard to give up but it really has no reward, but happiness in itself is a reward and our children are our greatest joys in life.
My first son was born on my 29th week and weighed 2 lbs, 14 ozs. We found out 2 weeks later that he has Cerybral Palsey. And, our second son came at 23 weeks and weighed an astounding 1 pound, 3 ozs. and was in the neo natal unit for 6 months, and he is perfectly fine.
Well our first son is 5 1/2 now and is a happy, funny, little beautiful red headed boy. Our second one is a very energetic child who loves to run and climb with more energy than the duracel bunny.
I was so nervous when they both came home, but you will very quickly get over all of the worries and just do what comes naturally.
My babies are true miracles !!!

It's normal to worry about any newborn baby. But preemies need a little extra care and attention. I had twin girls at 26 weeks and they weighed 2 lbs. at birth. Today they are the tallest in their class and have absolutly no health issues. I was very dilligent about washing my hands and everyone who entered the house as well. I also didn't take them into large crowds of people or to the mall either. But most importantly....I gave them extra love.
I had a premature baby also, and I did the same thing. Especially, if your like me and a first time mom. My son is now 4 months old and doing well. I can reassure you that it is completely normal, and will die off with time. I talked to my son's pediatrician, and he said that a lot of new moms and moms with preemies. I still check on my son, but when he is asleep in his bed I listen more with the monitor now, because I have learned what noises he makes when he needs me. So rest assured you will learn what noises your baby makes when they are asleep and when they are awake. I hope this gives you some reassurance!
