My 2 1/2 month old son is on Neocate Infant Formula due to a multi food protien allergy. The feeding team we see as a result of this allery recommended a vent air bottle and a more natural shaped nipple. We found that he took to the Dr Browns wide bottles well.
My problem.....The bottles won't come clean!!!!
I have tried the dishwasher, hand washing in scalding water and boiling, nothing seems to work. There is always a white film left in the bottles and nipples. The nipples always need at least two if not three washings.
Help!!! Anyone else have this problem? And how do you fix it?

Dr. Browns now makes glass bottles. I know they sell them through Amazon. Maybe glass will clean better than the plastic.
We never had an issue with cleaning the bottles. Try washing them out better before the dishwasher maybe? Or maybe change your dishwashing detergent...some more than others leave residue. Good luck!
BTDT - My son was on Neocate 1+ for a LONG TIME!!! It stuck to everything as well. Neocate is primarily fat and plastic has some "pockets" that these partcular fats seem to stick too. Check with your GI or pediatrician (whoever prescribed it) and ask them I finally just put is in sippy cups that could be washed with out the flow valves. You may want to try a different dishwashing liquid to see if it cut the greasy film.
Our dishwasher has a santizer and it seemed to get most of it off...I also remember rinsing EVERYTHING immediately when he was done, with very warm water. We premixed Derek's Neocate 1+ in advance and had a large bottle with the day's amount. That bottle was permanently changed we could never get it all off but washed it EVERY night. Personally I got to a point where I washed it and knew it was clean and that was that. Good Luck.
