Pissed About Drinking Water

In response to What's In Your Family's Drinking Water?, and the new report that a vast array of pharmaceuticals--including antibiotics, anti-convulsants, mood stabilizers and sex hormones--are in the drinking water of at least 41 million Americans, Mom Kasey had this to say: "I am just totally disgusted by this long list of medications that are in my kid's drinking water. I would serve them bottled water...but wait, there are BPAs in those. What is safe to drink anymore? And what if you can't AFFORD bottled water in the first place? As a mom, this just worries me sick. Of course the utility companies tell us this will cause no harm to our kids...but with health and safety there is often no guarantee. I am reminded of that great scene in Erin Brockovich where she says she brought in the water especially for the legal counsel. So funny. And the heartbreaking scene where the woman with cancer yells at her kids to get out of the pool when she realizes it's the water that likely made her sick. Please, EPA, make the water safe for our children. Our future depends on it." Respond to Kasey now.

There are generations of Americans strong and healthy and drinking public water. Just one more fear the media has brought to our attention as if there aren't enough already. The reports are that the minute amounts of medications in the water are not harmful at all. Some question the affect after years and years of drinking the water but noone can say for sure. It's like they keep telling us "someday" a huge meteor will hit the earth and "someday" a huge earthquake will kill us all. As for me, I'm not losing any sleep over this. I just chalk it up to the media doing their level best to be relevant.

The fact that we add things like flouride and other "minerals" to our water and some of those make us ill doesn't help matters any. Nothing is pure in our world we just keep piling the "trash" on.

There are no BPAs in plastic water bottles made of PET (polyethylene terephlate). Look at the bottom of your bottle. If it has the #1 recycling number, there is NO BPA.

This story is crazy. Can someone tell us what amounts are in it? Do we need to worry about this or not?
