Hi everyone :)
My name is Sabrina, i'm a stay at home mom to my daughter, Scarlett(9months). I abslolutely LOVE staying at home with her. Butttt I reallly want to start working. I've always had a strong work drive, and i haven't worked for almost a year now. I would love if they're was a possiblilty for a work from home job for me. I know they are out there, but i have no idea how to come across one. Does anyone have any ideas for work from home jobs, or can anyone point me in a direction to one?? Thanks so much :)

This opens a larger debate for me. I work for my company remotely at home, and it's not easy. I know so many people think "I have naptime, and nights, when they are sleeping."
But I'm here to tell you, it's not that easy.
Yes - there are downtimes, and there is definitely room for you to pick up some extra work (be it clerical, crafty, or even an additional child) but the truth is, it's draining.
I know your daughter is young now, and maybe for a quick year, you could make it work. But I have two children, and I found that working from home meant a lot of late nights. Otherwise, my children would be coloring walls, and ransacking the bathroom w.toliet paper while I typed.
Now, they are in preschool and pre-kindergarten, and things are easier. I work when they are in school, and when they are home, I am home as well. And I'm there.. in person and mind, my attention is directed on them, and focused on their needs.
I know it seems like a wonderful solution, but I also know a lot of WAHMs will confess it's exhausting!!
Hi,
I am a mom of a 13 month old and I work 4 days a week now at Booz Allen Hamilton as an IT consultant. I started a photography business a few years ago and want to do that full time. But then a month ago, I also started another company and most of us are moms across the country because who can multi-task better than a mom, especially a working mom? I figured I want to get out of the office and spend more time with my daughter and start my own business so that I can work the hours I want when I want and have a total blast while doing it. I have an MBA and all the women helping getting this up and running (Colorado Springs, Orange County California, Tampa, Miami, Washington D.C.) are all successful women in their professional and personal lives. Some have left the corporate world and are now professional moms and they are smart women and will help make this business a huge success.
My sister-in-law and another stay at home mom are doing my background checks and reference checks. Then a few others are organizing the hosting events, etc.
The service is going live June 1st.
Take a look and let me know what you think. Shoot me an email at chalemartin@hotmail.com

My other business - this is the one I may need more help with if my other two moms can't keep up with the background checks and reference checks: www.SingleProfessionalsNetworking.com
I am also interviewing others in other areas of the country to get additional offices stood up.

I just wanted to invite you to request more information about working from home if you are truly interested.
I have 3 boys and my degree in accounting and used to work at a small tax office and just recently pursued my secondary education license, all of which have made me who I am today. . . but I love working hard for myself and making my own hours. . .I have found nothing that can compete with working from home. My husband and 3 boys are very supportive and make it that much more enjoyable, so if you are interested in learning more you can read more by clicking on the website provided below. I could go on and on, but I really do try and schedule my time wisely with those who are truely interested in learning more so that I can still be a great mom too! It sounds like you are passionate and driven--can't waint to hear from you.

I currently run a home daycare and have for the last 6 years. The money is good but I'm getting burnt out. It can be challenging dealing with all of the different families who want you to use all of their different methods instead of the method(s) you intend on using in your home. I've had some bad experiences but also some great ones. It's worth trying(maybe 2-3 kids to start). Look for a home daycare co-op in your area. They can give you some leads on new people looking for care as well as give you some pointers and a shoulder to "cry on" when you need it!
There are quite a few things you could do--a virtual assistant, freelance writer (provided you write well of course), mystery shopper (and for the most part your child can go with you), etc. Just beware of the many many scams out there that target women who want to be home with their kids and work from home. Do your research--if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. ;)
Find you gift and make it pay you. Maybe you can do sewing or baking or cake decorating or babysitting or computer stuff. Just ask your self what you love to do best and what you love to do and see if you can come up with something. I did cake decorating & babysitting when my first few were little but obviously with so many that got too much to handle so I moved on to proof reading essays & term papers for college students & some computer graphics for t-shirts, buttons etc. I also got really good at the art of trading for instance I swapped flute lessons for wedding & birthday cakes with one family and computer record keeping for swim lessons at a gym for my children. I guess it all depends on what you can do and then just be creative and see where it leads.
Why don't you take in a few children? That way you are still home and making good money.I have three children and I take care of children in my home so when my kids get in from school im home...I love having as day care, give it a try.
